The tatoos in the Mafiya:

I read this article from Rachel G Kaufman's note, so all credits go to her! Such interesting article, don't miss it!!!!!!!!!

The tatoos in the Mafiya

1. Stars in the knees mean don´t kneel down before any authority.

2. Spider moving up: thief in activity.

3. Crucifix: criminal authority.

4. Rose: ruined since he was very young.

5. Church: the number of towers show the number of years in prison

6. Tiger: I hate the policemen

7: Skull: ready to kill.
These are just some meanings: for example, skulls in the fingers count the number of assasinations.

The tats in this character: on his right shoulder, the tat shows his hierarchy in the Mafiya is high. The variations are in the center of the that, where it could have different designs. There is no design in this drawing. This tatoo up to the neck, it means he is an important authority in the Mafiya.

The cat tells he was a thief, and did his job alone (only one cat).

On his left arm we see a part of a tat: it loos like a spider´s net. If thats the case, he was/is a drug -addict.

Points in the stars: how many people he killed (it has more meanings). If the stars are on the knees, it means ´don´t kneel down before any authority´.

Is it Final? Vory or Mafyia?

Is it Final? Vory or Mafyia?

When it is time for Boss final, the eng/exp ratio is better for Mafiya.

The Money is WAY better if you choose Mafiya in the earlier jobs.

Surely, it will be different the next chapter , as it was from the first to the second.

1. The Mafiya pathway costs more money (you need 6 Taksis) while in the Vory pathway you only need 3 Taksis. On the other hand, The Mafiya pathway is more efficient (1.71 xp per energy vs 1.68 xp per energy). Who like that, could choose one side for some jobs and the other in next jobs, because of the loot. Anyway, final equip value is less than 5 %

2. In the Russian Mafia, ' Vory v zakone' means "thieves in law". After 1900, the common name for Vory v zakone is MAFIYA. Ergo, Vory v zakone and Mafiya means the same :)

Mastering the tiers: both give us same items if we have mastering the tiers. See the mastery items here.

PS : Credit goes to Jeff Downs! Thank you to Rachel G Kaufman for the notes!

Vory OR Mafiya?

  Vory OR Mafiya?

On arrival  Moscow.. The GodFather give me one achivement for this..

I am doing my first jobs here on Episode 1 of Moscow.. and when I arrive on Chapter 2, GodFather forces me to choose : Pick Vory or Pick Mafiya? Let's try this..

If I choose Vory, then I have chance to loot Cherepakha Compact as a vehicle on this chapter..

And if I choose Mafiya,

I will able to loot Molotok Pistol..

So far, this is all I know about both side.. but great news, guys.. if we have chosen one side, we'll be able to choose again on next mastery level.. so no worry about which side you choose..

So Enjoy.....................

Mafia Wars Moscow Overview

Mafia Wars Moscow Overview

All in all, Moscow is pretty similar to early Cuba. Money, although you get more of it for jobs, is still very tight, and you will have to end up repeating jobs to buy the items to complete the next tier.

There are two primary differences:

One is that one job and the boss fight in each tier have a "Get Help" button attached to them. The one job is very inefficient, around 1.3ish XP/energy cost. For level one mastery, you have to do the job 34 times to get through, for level 2 mastery, 50 times, and for level three mastery, 100 times (3%/2%/1%). You can "Get Help" on the job and completely skip it if enough friends help. The catch? You can only do this once every 24 hours. However, if you have an energy account, you can still power through it. In fact, if you have an energy account, I would recommend it - money is so tight you will need to repeat jobs anyway just to get the items for the next tier.

For example, on my energy account I powered through that job both at level 2 and 3 mastery in episode 1 and I had just barely enough money to buy all the items for Episode 1 and Episode 2.

The boss fight works a similar way - during the first and third level masteries, you have to click a "Get Help" button to do the job. You can only do this once every 24 hours. The downside? Well, you can not power through it and you can only do it once every 24 hours, so it takes at least 1 full day to master the first job tier, another couple days to master the 2nd episode, so on and so forth.

So, as you can see, the EXP ratios are similar to starting out in Cuba. Also interesting is that for the first few jobs you need New York items. There is some consumable use in Moscow; you need a Dossier on Dmitri (found by doing the Buy Mafia Intel on Dmitri) to do the final job (Hospitalize Some Nationalists) leading up to the boss fight. Was not really a road block though, I did the Dossier job a few extra times when I needed money to reach the next tier.

Right now, there does not seem to be much of an advantage in choosing sides. I guess the job mastery rewards could be different, but we will not be able to tell until a full 24 hours passes from Moscow release so someone can complete a tier.

There are new collections, businesses, and items. I will publish those very soon.

Mafia Wars Moscow- Exclusive First Look!

Mafia Wars Moscow- Exclusive First Look!

Mafia Wars: Moscow, the second expansion to the mob-themed Facebook game Mafia Wars, lets players expand their criminal empire into brand new territory. Mafia Wars publisher Zynga gave us an exclusive sneak peek at the new expansion, set to hit a browser near you September 24.

The expansion's basic game mechanics will remain unchanged. Score cash and experience points by taking on missions and fighting rival mafias; use the cash to buy weapons, power-ups and properties; and use the experience points to level up your mobster's energy levels or fighting skills as you see fit.

The biggest difference in this expansion? Mafia Wars Senior Product Manager David Kahn says it will have, "a new look and feel," and, "will be much harder than other expansions we released before, more geared to higher level players, level 70-plus."

New episodes
As soon as you arrive in Moscow, you're forced to choose sides. Will you help the the Vory v Zakone, a group of old-school Russian mobsters, or the Mafiya, former KGB and military officers who have learned that organized crime pays far more rubles than a government job? The loot items for the missions will be different depending on which faction you go with, so choose wisely.
Also unlike the other Mafia Wars scenarios, missions will be broken down into chapters, and you will not be able to see the next set of missions until you complete a chapter and defeat the boss at the end. Players will also have to rely on friends more than before to defeat these high-powered crime lords.
As for achievements, Moscow will have six new achievements, five new businesses, six new collections and 50-plus Russian-themed weapons, armor and vehicles. Some of those specialty items will include an AK-47 type gun, specialty night-vision goggles, and of course, classic Russian nesting dolls.

New collections, weapons, armor and vehicles

Of course, we had to ask, "Why Moscow?" Kahn says in addition to Moscow's mobbed up history, they chose the city because that's what the fans wanted (via an online voting campaign).

The fans also picked the location for the next two Mafia Wars expansions -- Asia and the Western US -- but details are scare because they're busy asking their players what other features they want next. Now that's what we call social gaming.

Mafia Wars Moscow launched Thursday, September 24. As they say in Russia, Увидеть вас там (see you there).

Prepare For Moscow!

Prepare For Moscow!

Upcoming Moscow Wars!

Our arrival in the city has upset the balance of power. Will you side with the Vory, the princes of thieves and the Old Guard of the Russian underworld? Or maybe you'd prefer the company of the brutally ruthless and efficient Mafiya? The decisions you make will have consequences, so choose carefully. Udachi! (Udachi means success).

To have success you need the family you currently have or you will be basically starting over if everyone makes a different choice. Example you go Vory & your mastermind goes Mafiya, you no longer have your mastermind as he'll be fighting against you!

They are giving small clues about this & that is why I'm trying to let everyone know the real consequences, which is you could lose your current family.

It'll be very bad for families that are tagged, they will be fighting against each other if they don't all wait & agree on which way to go.

Each side will have different weapons, the Vory are thieves so they will be able to steal the weapons of the Mafiya much easier, yet the Mafiya are brutal so they will have better defense.

WE believe it's going to be a complete upset as it states, it just doesn't state the upset is with your current family. Example if you have 1000 members right now, that could go down to 500 or less if there isn't some type of communication.

The real problem is the communication as many are eager for Russia to open & they could find themselves on their own & they won't be able to change.

Some studies show the best way to go is with the Mafiya. . . . but they can be wrong! I'm seeing through the words & reading through the Zynga links & they are right, it could be an upset, but to us!

There is just so much to it. Main point is making sure you're with your top mafia. But if you're on the opposite, you can easily switch your Top Mafia, right?

A little research on the two options being offered:

Vory - The thieves... Vory v zakone or "thieves in law". This class of criminal had to abide by certain rules in the prison system. One such rule was that cooperation with the authorities of any kind was forbidden. During World War II some prisoners made a deal with the government to enlist in the armed forces in return for a reduced sentence, but upon their return to prison they were attacked and killed by inmates who remained loyal to the rules of the thieves.

During the Leonid Brezhnev era when the Soviet economy took a downhill turn, the Vory would take control of the black market with the help of corrupt officials, supplying products such as electronics which were hard to reach for the ordinary Soviet citizen.
I'm thinking Cuba for these guys due to the corrupt officials...

Russian Mafiya - Widespread corruption, poverty and distrust of authorities only contributed to the rise of organized crime. Contract killings reached an all-time high with many gangland murders taking place, a substantial number remaining unsolved. The new criminal class of Russia took on a more Westernized and businesslike approach to organized crime as the more code-of-honor based Vory faded into extinction.

This "mafia" mass immigrated to NY in the 1990's acquiring an Israeli passport to be granted permission to leave. Also, many other Russians and Russian criminals obtained falsified documents to prove they had Jewish ancestry, in order to be issued with Israeli passports so they could emigrate to America as well.[citation needed] In the United States a key location for Russian organized crime was the Russian community of Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, New York.

Possible directions? The former Soviet Bloc's opening up to the world and the internationalization of its economy also gave the Russian mafia connections to other criminal organizations around the world such as the Chinese Triads or the Sicilian Cosa Nostra. Connections with Latin American drug cartels allowed the Russian mafia to import cocaine into the country.

AN ALERT FOR YOUR MAFIA
At this point this is rumor. For Russia : You will need to start saving up on s Untraceable Cell Phone, ITRs, BMPs, and Computer Setup too.. I have heard that a few of the jobs will require you to have 501 of the Brass Knuckles, .22 Pistols, Butterfly Knives so keep all those weapons just incase this is true.

ALL THE CREDITS FOR THESE INFO TO SOME OF MY MAFIA FRIENDS WHO COLLECT THESE FOR YOU- ALEX, SRIJON,LUBO.
