Roughhouse Rafael

The Boss Fight you know and love has been upgraded! This is the first of a number of exciting fighting features coming to Mafia Wars this quarter! In this Boss Fight, you'll be tasked with taking out Roughhouse Rafael, and you're given one week to do it!

A full week of fighting?... Sounds like only those with high stamina will survive. On the contrary, stamina has nothing to do with this fight! Instead, you will need to collect 4 new ammos from jobs, wars, robbing, and, should you choose, gifting to bring down Roughhouse.

As for the new ammos, our informants tell us that it would be unwise to assume that any one of them is the best and use it the whole time. Apparently, the ammos, when used in certain sequences, unlock particularly damaging combos!  You will have the opportunity to discover one such combo by completing a Quest Event that will run during the Boss Fight. You will have to discover other combos on your own or via your friends' feeds if they beat you to the punch.

Robbing Loots Updated!

Zynga have updated the loot drops for Robbing. The old loot was so outdated that i "abandoned" the feature before...

Declare War - New Rewards, Achievements, Timer and Refresh Button

Zynga have once again updated the Declare War feature with new rewards, achievements, timer and a refresh button!

If you visited your Declare War page, you can see this little green button located under "Fight".
All the button does is to refresh your Declare War page to get new targets so you can go in war with them.

Besides the refresh button, there are also new reward items, achievements and timer update.

Click on the question mark button(?) on the Declare War page and you will be able to view the new achievements and rewards.

Secret Stash 411 & FAQ

The Secret Stash just got a new identity and it's better than ever! Locating the hidden stash takes fast thinking and faster action! Each time that you trigger a Secret Stash you will be presented with three choices of finding a stash, and now 3 of your friends can help. You can choose the difficulty of the stash that you want to find, and you can increase your chances by adding your friends help to the stash level of your choice. You can place all three friends on the same level or spread them across the choices to increase your chance, but act fast because 15 seconds goes by quickly!

Q: When will the new Secret Stash be available?
A: This feature will be released on 05/04/11. As with all of our new feature releases this will be slowly rolled out to our players to ensure stability within the game. (All players may not have initial access to this feature release.)

Q: How does it work?
A: Once you have triggered the Secret Stash you will have 15 seconds to assign one of your friends to one of three choices of stash items.

Q: Where can I check the status of my Secret Stash?
A: You can check the status of your Secret Stash by clicking the Operations tab, then clicking the Secret Stash tab.

Q: How many times will I be able to collect a Secret Stash?
A: You can only have one Secret Stash per day.

Q: Where will I find a Secret Stash?
A: A Secret Stash can appear from doing jobs, fighting, or by robbing!

Q: What happnes if I click on more that one Secret Stash in a day?
A: Since you can only start 1 new Secret Stash each day you will receive an error that states "Sorry, you have already found a secret stash today."

Q: When will the timer reset?
A: The timer will reset at midnight local time each day.

Q: What if I don't want to have the Secret Stash trigger?
A: You will have the option to disable this feature under the account settings tab. Remember, you can only change these settings once per day.

Q: How long will it take to complete the Secret Stash?
A: The completion timer is based upon the value of the item and can vary from 24 to 48 hours.

Q: Can I share this find with my friends?
A: Yes! If they click on the post from your news feed they will receive experience points and have a chance of finding their own secret stash as well.

Q: What types of loot can I find in the Secret Stash?
A: Each timet that you trigger a Secret Stash you will be presented with a choice of three Limited Edition items. Each one will be listed as either Easy, Medium, or Hard. Of course, the harder it is to find, the better the item will be!

Q: Are my chances of finding loot increased by placing a friend under that item?
A: Yes they are! By placing a friend under the desired item, you will increase the chance of finding that item. The display will show you how much the drop rate percentage has been increased.

Q: Are my friends required to help me find the Secret Stash?
A: Yes. Each level of difficulty for finding the Secret Stash requires additional help from your friends

• Easy - 3 helpers
• Medium - 6 helpers
• Hard - 12 helpers

Q: How will my friends know to help me out?
A: You will be able to publis each stach that you find to your feed. Once published, your friends will hav ethe opportunity to help your out.

Q: What happens once I have found the Secret Stash?
A: After you have found the Secret Stash you can share the find with your friends be clicking the 'Tell Friends' button.

Q: What will happen if I don't find the Secret Stash?
A: If you are not successful in your quest for the stash you will receive a mssage inviting you back tomorrow to try again.

Reporting abusive behavior and offensive names

If after reading this article, you would like to file a report with Mafia Wars, please file an email ticket.

Q: What is 'Report Abusive Behavior'?

A: Abusive behavior that Customer Support agents have the authority to change are offensive names (names that include profanity or any obscene, indecent, pornographic, sexual or otherwise objectionable content or language).  Customer Support will evaluate accounts reported for this and change names to a default name when deemed necessary.


Q: What about other forms of abusive behavior?
A: Many reports currently involve actions or communication outside of Mafia Wars. As such, those reports are outside of our jurisdiction to act upon.

Q: What is considered in-game abuse or harassment?

A: Mafia Wars has player versus player game play. As part of the game, players can fight each other in the game.
If a player is detected using automated means of attacking to prevent other players from using the attack function themselves, we reserve the right to remove the fighting and gifting functionality from the attacker.
We understand that the fighting scenarios have many complicated factors. A defending player's total health, an attacking player's stamina, and clan wars are all factors that make it difficult to set strict numerical limits on what is permissible. As such, Customer Support agents cannot intervene as moderators of in-game combat between players. Our developers are also continually working on ways to improve the coding to ensure that combat is restricted to human actions, instead of automated game-play.

Q: I have been attacked 25/50/100/500 times!  I have been iced/killed 5/10/50 times!  What can I do?  What can Customer Support do?

A:  There are no rules or restrictions to the number of times players can attack each other per hour, day, or week.  If your defense strength and health are relatively high compared to an attacker's attack strength, health, and stamina, the attacker might have to attack you many times in order to ice you. There are also no limits as to the numbers of times players can ice/kill each other per hour, day, or week.  Customer Support agents in chat are not authorized to act on any accounts reported.

Q: What are you going to do about cheaters?

A: We have multiple processes in place to address players attempting to cheat.  Due to privacy and security reasons, Customer Support is not authorized, or obligated, to report to the informants what actions the security team has taken.  The security team has strict standards for comprehensive data analysis and for the actions taken against accounts determined to be abnormal.  Rest assured, action is taken on many accounts on a regular basis and can involve measures such as stat adjustment, item removal, and/or partial or full suspension of playing privileges.  Many actions are not outwardly visible to other players, and in many cases, players that resort to abnormal gameplay and are caught, do not want to admit to other players that they were caught and adjusted.  Insisting that Customer Support 'do something' about reported accounts will not result in immediate action.

Q: What if I am being harassed on my social network?

A: Harassing communication should be reported to the appropriate customer support site for that social network as they will be able to confirm communications sent through their platform.

Brazil Fighting/Stamina Cost 411 & FAQ

When Brazil was launched there were many new features that were introduced. One of the feature changes that you will find only in Brazil is in regards to the amount of Stamina that players is charged for Attacks and Power Attacks. With the release of Brazil, players now have different a stamina cost based upon their level within the game. Part of this update also includes an increase in the amount of the reward you can receive based upon your level within the game.

Q: How come some players are getting 5 times the amount of loot when they are fighting?
A: The loot drop is correlative to amount of Stamina points used for a fight. The Stamina amount needed to fight in Brazil is determined by the players level within the game.

Q: How are the drop rates calculated?
A: The amount of loot you might find is multiplied by the amount of Stamina points you use to attack. (It is importanat to note, that this is based only upon of the amount of Stamina used to attack, not the Power Attack feature.)

Q: When will I be able to increase the amount I earn from fighting?
A: The multiplier used to determine the amount of an item that you will receive from fighting is based upon your level. When you cross each threshold your multiplier will increase.

Q: Can the amount I earn be manually increased?
A: Unfortunatley, no. The amount of the drop rates is tied directly to your level within the game and this cannot be manually adjusted by our agents. In order obtain the higher drop rates you will need to increase your level within the game.

Q: I was fighting someone in Brazil, but I didn't receive the Brazil items.
A: If you are fighting someone in Brazil, and their character travels to another city, you will not receive items from Brazil. You can verify this by checking to see if the Brazil Real is listed: . In the image below, the player has traveled away from Brazil.

Q: Will I receive loot items every time that I fight?
A: No. This is a random drop and it is not guaranteed that you will find items each time that you fight.

Q: If I am at level 501, will I receive 5 items every time that they drop?
A: No. For each level you can obtain up to the maximum for that level, but you are not guaranteed to receive the maximum each time that you fight. Finding loot items is completely random, and you may or may not receive them when fighting.

Q: Where will i see the items when a drop occurs after I fight?
A: You will see thise items below the fight specs and they will be labeled as Bonus Loot!

Q: Where will I find the items that have dropped.
A: You can find these items on your loot page. You can also click the word 'Loot' on the drop notification and you will be taken to that page.
